Advancing the TMS Community with Research

Salience Research Announcement: Neuro-Cardiac-Guided (NCG) TMS Open to Patients

About Salience TMS Research

Research is at the core of what we do at Salience TMS. We believe that when it comes to patient care "good isn't good enough".  Our research team and partnerships work to advance the care we provide as well as the TMS Community.

To our knowledge, Salience TMS has the most extensive naturalistic database of TMS Therapy in the world. Our research team uses this database to analyze and reach conclusions on how to best treat patients using TMS therapy.  Below you can view the published findings from the studies we have conducted, with partnerships ranging from universities to research institutions.

Our team is continuously looking for additional research opportunities and presenting any current or past research findings at conferences across the US. We work to drive forward our community's awareness of TMS Therapy and brain stimulation.

TMS Therapy Research Facts

Research Articles

If you are interested in learning more about TMS therapy, our research team has put together some of the best research studies on TMS around the globe.

AAA ("Triple A" - Adolescent, Accelerated, Anxitey) Study

Report observations on the safety, tolerability, and anxiolytic effectiveness of a 30-session course of open-label 1 Hz DMPFC-TMS.

Daily Left Prefrontal Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

To test whether daily left prefrontal rTMS safely and effectively treats major depressive disorder.

Safety Considerations for the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Review updated guidelines, safety of TMS protocols, and address the risks of emerging TMS interventions.

Efficacy and Safety of rTMS for Generalised Anxiety Disorder

rTMS combined with medication treatment may have a significant positive effect on patients with GAD.

rTMS for Adolescent Major Depressive Disorder

Furthermore, we suggest that following these recommendations in future studies will offer a more rigorous test of rTMS as an effective treatment for adolescent depression.

Trajectories of Response to Dorsolateral Prefrontal rTMS in Major Depression

The aim of this study was to characterize response trajectories for patients with major depression undergoing rTMS.

Evidence-based Guidelines on the Therapeutic use of rTMS

Experts reappraised the therapeutic efficacy of rTMS previously published in 2014.

FDA Approved for Major Depression and OCD

Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a technology that has been around for over three decades but was FDA-approved in 2008 to treat major depression. Since then, the FDA has additionally cleared OCD, Anxious Depression, and Smoking Cessation to be treated with TMS therapy. In addition to the standard protocols, Dorsal Medial, Theta Burst, and SAINT protocols have also been cleared by the FDA.

Today, TMS technology is a tried-and-true treatment with millions of sessions completed around the globe. If medications and therapy are not enough for your depression, approach TMS therapy confidently.

Patients are at the Center of Everything we do.

Each week, our research team reviews clinical cases of patients who are not responding to TMS therapy. A team of our doctors reviews each case and, using research-backed protocols, makes recommendations on how to best proceed with treatment.

Our goal? Patient Remission.
